For lack of a better naming system, what the lacks in creative verbiage, it makes up for in sweet little tweaks rooted in 6 years of obsessive FM testing.
The main adjustments are in outline, channel, deck profile and rocker.  The channel is removed for this variation, because of the lessening of tail rocker - this creates more trim speed on varied waves, and faster drive in a straight line.  The deck shape is flatter rail to rail, so it’s a more forgiving platform.
Where the FM almost demands to be on rail, the FM2 will ‘cruise-control’ and trim a little better, while still being a monster when on rail.
The outline is my favorite part.  Allowing for steeper takeoffs, and earlier entry - the narrowed nose profile and shifted widepoint makes the board more thoughtless.  Moments I had to *think* about, especially on firing days, are gone; less nose to poke or pearl, less burden, easier to duck dive.
The fin setup is the last major point - I’ve added a single box option to open up possibilities and feelings.  The FM thrives as a narrow-twin, but something about these outline types scream single to me still, and I’ll always follow function over form so I’ve added the center box for the new platform.
